Why Bamboo?

When it comes to cabinets and furniture, bamboo stands out as an exceptional choice for numerous reasons. Here at Modern Mosa, we believe in the unparalleled advantages that bamboo offers over other materials.

Sustainability: Bamboo panels are renowned for its sustainability and eco-friendliness. As one of the fastest-growing plants on the planet, bamboo can reach maturity in just a few years, making it an incredibly renewable resource. Harvesting bamboo does not require replanting, as the plant regenerates from its own roots. Choosing bamboo products reduces the strain on natural forests and contributes to the preservation of our environment. It is becoming an increasingly prevalent crop in the USA.

Strength and Durability: Bamboo panels have a higher tensile strength than many traditional hardwoods. Its natural fibers are tightly packed, providing remarkable stability and resistance to warping or cracking. This means that bamboo furniture and cabinets are built to withstand the rigors of daily use and retain their beauty for years to come.

Impact in Design: Bamboo panels offer remarkable impact when it comes to design options. They can be crafted into sleek, modern and traditional designs. The natural color variations of bamboo panels, ranging from light blondes to rich caramel tones, add depth and character to furniture and cabinets, creating a unique and captivating visual appeal. Bamboo furniture and cabinets exude an organic elegance that is difficult to match with other materials. The distinct grain patterns and textures inherent in bamboo lend a sense of warmth and tranquility to any space.

Easy Maintenance: Bamboo is not only visually appealing but also easy to maintain. Its smooth surface makes cleaning a breeze, requiring only a simple wipe-down with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.

Meet Us!

Modern Mosa was founded by Master Carpenter, Greg Nilan. Nilan brings with him 40 years of experience in home cabinetry, furniture making and repair, and residential construction. As a resident of the Seattle, WA area for the majority of his life, Nilan is committed to providing the Greater Seattle Area with quality, sustainable furniture options. After working with a wide variety of wood materials and applications, Nilan found bamboo stood out as a strong, highly stable material and, in his opinion, surpassed that of wood.
